If It Seems Too Good To Be True...

With the summer months almost upon us and people preparing to fire up barbecues across the land, Bedfordshire Police are warning residents across the county to be cautious of buying fresh produce from unknown sources.
On Thursday June 21, Police were called to Farm Foods in Dunstable after a substantial amount of meat was stolen from the premises. A few minutes later, the offender was spotted in the town centre selling the stolen goods to members of the public.
Not only was the offender arrested, but so was the bargain hunter who was held on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
The incident highlights the old adage that ‘if it seems too good to be true... it probably is'. While everyone likes to pick up a bargain, it is not worth doing so if it lands you with a criminal record.
If you have information relating to any incident involving stolen goods being sold, contact Bedfordshire Police, in confidence, on the non emergency number 101, or text information to 07786 200011.
Alternatively contact independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111, or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.
