We're still talking in Sandy and Biggleswade
Residents of the Sandy and Biggleswade area are invited to meet their public service providers and discuss local matters important to them at the Let's Talk Together community meeting that will take place on Tuesday 7 June at Sandy Sports Centre between 7-9pm.
Central Bedfordshire Council, the Police, NHS Bedfordshire, the Fire and Rescue Service, Town and Parish Councils and other organisations will all be present at the meeting. Feedback will directly influence the policing priorities highlighted in the previous meeting for the Safer Neighbourhood Team area which includes Tempsford, Everton, Potton, Sutton, Wrestlingworth & Cockayne Hatley, Eyeworth, Dunton, Edworth, Biggleswade, Sandy, Blunham, Moggerhanger, Northill, Old Warden and Southill.
At the meeting both residents and community groups will get a chance to find out more about volunteering, community safety and health services as well as a range of council services.
The Let's Talk Together meeting will start with a chance to meet the local service providers attending and for you to discuss any specific local issues with them. You can drop in at any time during the first hour of the meeting when the local service providers will be available for a chat. This will be followed by a chaired discussion where you can talk about the community safety issues that are affecting your area and help set the policing priorities for the Sandy and Biggleswade area.
The priorities agreed at the meeting will be available on the Central Bedfordshire Together website http://www.centraltogether.org.uk/ and from the Safer Neighbourhood Team a couple of days after the meeting.
The meeting will last around two hours, but you can attend for as much or as little as you like. All queries raised will be noted and any questions that can't be answered straight away will be taken away for action by the relevant agency.
Joy Craven, Central Bedfordshire Community Safety Partnership, said "Let's Talk Together meetings help us get to the heart of the community and understand what is important to our residents and understand what safety concerns they have"
"We are able to consult and offer advice to members of the public of a range of community safety issues, together with promoting safety awareness across Central Bedfordshire. Great work has been done and continues to get done by a range of partners working together and it is exciting to be able to share this as wide as possible in our communities. I would encourage everyone to come to a Let's Talk Together meeting to find out more, and to tell us what is happening in their community."
