The Parish Office phone number is 947 1703. Please use this number not only for church business but also to let us know about people who are ill or need home communion or any other pastoral matter. Thank you.
Confirmation Groups. We are now pulling together Confirmation Groups for anyone who wants to explore the Christian faith in more depth and who might be thinking about being confirmed this autumn. The Confirmation Service will take place at St Barnabas' Church on Sunday 21 November at 6.30pm. We shall be running two preparation groups across the parish. Graeme Fancourt will be leading the young people's group and Dan Tyndall the adult's group. Please contact them for further information.
Helping Our Church to Grow - Change of Course Venue. For those intending to come to the Tuesday afternoon session - for this Tuesday only the course will be held at Ian Lowry's home.
New Parish Forms. It is some time now since we all filled in the forms from the welcome packs. We are planning to have this information sorted by the end of Nov (due to technical difficulties!) so please bear with us for the time being. However, for your information, our levels of giving have increased by £585 (5.5%) for St Margaret's and £4000 (7%) for St Peter's. Thank you very much.
Pop-In Help Wanted. Can you give 2 hours once a month, either Tuesday or Thursday morning, between 10.00 and 12.00, to make coffee and chat at Church House? Contact Jean Crosbie
St Edward The Confessor National Pilgrimage Day At Westminster Abbey. Sat 16 October 2010 from 9.00 am. A prayer tour is offered into every part of the Abbey, its precincts and gardens. Please ask Sylvia Chumbley for further details, or look at the web-site at www.westminster-abbey.org

Thank to all who attended the annual Harvest Choir Concert last Sunday afternoon and to mall those who contributed to a fabulous tea. £215 was raised for church funds.
Choral Evensong at Coventry Cathedral. On Saturday October 9th the choir will be singing Choral Evensong at Coventry Cathedral. Evensong is at 4pm. We would welcome supporters. If you would like to join us but need a lift please speak to Ian Westley or a member of the choir.
Harvest Festival Decorations. My thanks to all those who helped to decorate our church with a glorious display of our English autumn flowers and berries. Pat Williams.
Harvest Gifts. Thank you for the fantastic amount of food and cleaning materials which are now safely in the storerooms at CIRDIC and also for the monetary donations. Pat Williams.
Parish Rooms. Is there anyone in our churches who would take on the responsibility of keeping the two rooms next to the Rectory clean? It's hard to say exactly how often they'll need cleaning as things will change as the use of the rooms grow. Any offers of help to Caroline Smith in the Parish Office please
For Your Prayers
Collect
Almighty and everlasting God, increase in us your gift of faith that, forsaking what lies behind and reaching out to that which is before, we may run the way of your commandments and win the crown of everlasting joy; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
Prayer Corner. Please do light a candle if it would help with your prayers. Sometimes it's comforting to light a candle for someone who is ill or if someone has died. Or maybe a celebratory candle to say thank you for something. The book is there for you to write a name down or a short message for a prayer request. This book is laid on the altar at the Wed.9.30 Eucharist and offered to God during the service.
Please pray for:
