St Peter's Ramblers Walk today, the final one before Christmas with mulled wine and mince pies en route. We meet at Mapledurham Pavillion carpark at 2.30pm for a walk of just under 4 miles at the pace of the slowest walker. More information from Caroline and Nigel Smith
Due to the protestors outside of St Paul's Cathedral, visitor numbers have halved and they have lost around £800,000 in income. Surely, then, this is the perfect time for an Advent Parish trip to St Paul's? On Tuesday 13 December, the Canon Precentor has agreed to give people from this parish a private tour of the Cathedral, culminating in Evensong (at which we will have reserved seating). This is a rare opportunity, and I hope a good number will be able to take up this offer. Entrance is £15.00, and each person will need to organise their own transport; we will meet outside of the South door entrance at 2:15, with the tour beginning at 2:30. Please let Graeme Fancourt know if you are going so we know to wait for you.
St Peter's and St Margaret's Mothers' Union. All members are invited to come for coffee and mince pies after the 9.30am communion service on December 14 (it would be good if you could all attend the service as well).Further information on this or any other MU matters from the secretary Pat Williams.
Floral Decoration for Christmas. These will be done on Monday 19 December between 10am and 4pm. If you would like to help, please come along with your scissors /secateurs at a time to suit you. Tea, coffee and Christmassy things to eat will be available. Donations of seasonal foliage will be very welcome. Pat Williams.
We are having two Christingle services on 24 December this year and need help to make up the christingles and help at the two services. Please let Jacqui C, Pam A or Sue J know if you can help. Thank you

SSAFA Gurkha Ladies Teaching English Project. A teaching project has been set by SSAFA Reading (Soldiers, Sailors & Air Forces Families Association) to help the Gurkha community in Reading. The aim is to assist approximately 50 Gurkha ladies to speak, read and write in English which will enable them to integrate more fully into the communities in which they live. The project has been running for 6 weeks and the response has been overwhelming. In order to allow this project to continue and succeed in the New Year, support is now needed from teachers and helpers. We hope that there might be people within St Peter's Church who might be interested in becoming involved. If you are interested, please contact Pam Reynolds (choir)
