A team from Thames Water gave a helping hand to Berkshire County Blind Society by spending a day re-painting at their offices. The team of 5 from Research and Development at Thames Water decided they would like to help in the community for a day as part of Thames Water's employee volunteering project and decided on local charity Berkshire County Blind Society with the help of local business community partnership Connect Reading.
Sue Gook, Acting Chief Executive, Berkshire County Blind Society, said: "We were delighted to welcome the cheerful and hard-working team of volunteers from Thames Water when they came to decorate our offices in Reading. Usually it is the dedicated staff here at Berkshire County Blind Society who put our efforts into helping and supporting others but this time it was our turn to be on the receiving end of such kindness. A big thank you to all involved."
Anish Shah, Corporate Social Responsibility, Thames Water, said: "As a large employer in reading our team of employee volunteers are really pleased to have been able to give some practical support to Berkshire County Blind Society, a charity working hard to make a big difference locally."
Ruth Spicer, Manager, Connect Reading, said: "We are delighted to have worked with Berkshire County Blind Society and Thames Water setting up this project. Team Challenges are so rewarding for charities and businesses, maintenance of charity premises is usually the last thing that they want to put their efforts into so for a business to help them with this is great and it makes a real difference."
