The Mandeville School will be hosting a recruitment evening on 11th November, from 7pm - 9pm, for local people who would like to join the teaching profession.
The evening will give delegates a chance to find out about the different career routes that are open to them in the teaching profession. The event has been funded by the Training Development Agency, and has been arranged in partnership with Buckinghamshire County Council and a number of local schools:
- Princes Risborough School
- Aylesbury High School
- The Royal Latin School
- Highcrest Community School
- Holmer Green Senior School
Brunel University, The London Metropolitan University and The Open University will also be in attendance to explain the opportunities available to gain qualifications at their institutions.
Matthew Gunn, Assistant Headteacher at The Mandeville School, said: "It is a way for us as a school to support the local community by providing careers advice, but also an opportunity for all of the local schools to recruit future teachers."
Marion Clayton, Cabinet Member for Achievement and Learning, said: "It is great to see a range of schools in Buckinghamshire working together and going out to the community to find our future teachers. Teaching is a challenging, rewarding profession. I hope that this initiative will attract interest from a range of people who might be thinking about entering the profession, but just need that bit of extra information and encouragement. "
