MacIntyre Showcase Is A Huge Success

Hundreds of local people turned out to support the Milton Keynes based charity MacIntyre when they opened their doors to the public at the weekend.
The three-day Christmas Showcase was a huge success, with a steady stream of visitors touring the main Great Holm site, meeting the learners and staff and helping them raise funds towards a major refurbishment programme for the complex.
Head of Operations Anna Perry said the event was a fantastic success and everyone at MacIntyre was greatly encouraged by the interest and support shown by the community.
"It was a huge boost for the learners, who had been working hard for weeks preparing displays and demonstrations and for the staff who support them. There was a lot of joy and laughter around the site throughout the weekend and they are all still talking about it now," she added.
MacIntyre, which provides service and support to more than 170 disabled adults throughout the city, hopes to have raised more than £1,000 at the event. Christmas cards and raffle tickets are still being sold through the coffee shop at Great Holm and Christmas trees are available on the site or by calling 01908 265285.
