Stony Stratford Ladies overcame a long journey to go through to the 2nd round Qualifying in the Womens FA Cup with a closely fought 2-1 victory at Forest of Dean Ladies.

Stony Ladies in action earlier this seasonStony Ladies in action earlier this season Stony started brightly and it wasnt long before Lynsey Patmore's defence splitting pass put Kirsty Walker through on goal who coolly slotted past the keeper after 4 minutes. A fine strike from the corner of the penalty area from Tamsin Graveson made it two with only 13 minutes played.

The home side began to claw their way back into the game with several last ditch tackles saving the day for Stony.

The second half was very even and was a hard battle but Stony never looked in too much trouble but Forest Of Dean gave themselves a chance with a fine finish with twenty to go.

The visitors held on for a good win and now face Bitton ladies(Bristol based) in the next round at home on 24th October.

Stony Stratford Ladies Reserves continued their fine run of results scoring double figures for the second weekend running this time 10-0 away to Bardwell.

Five goals were scored in each half with the scorers being Brooke Fry(3), Louise Pullan(2), Michelle Peel, Donna Evans, Sarah Thompson, Kirsty James and Courtney Frankish.
