Milton Keynes College is proud to be hosting their first Law Careers Day for aspiring lawyers in schools and colleges across the area.
On Saturday June 30th year 11 and 12 students will have the opportunity to find out how to access careers in the legal field, hear from visiting guest speakers and discover the many different routes to qualification and alternative careers.
Speakers will include a practising barrister, a local solicitor who is a partner in a large international commercial law firm, the Managing Director of the Institute of Legal Executives, University admissions tutors, Law graduates and Law students.
The event has been organised by the Law Team in the Academic Studies Department of the college to widen participation and allow people to see how diverse access to legal work can be. It is hoped participants will be inspired to further their studies and will leave with a better understanding of the many different qualification routes, types of career and sense of job satisfaction that legal work can bring.
The Academic Studies Department at the college offers A-levels in a wide range of subjects including Law and Forensic Science. Details are available on www.mkcollege.ac.uk or by attending one of their open events. The conference is being held at the Bletchley Campus in the Andrew Peck Building and is free to attend; a few places are still available.
