Celebrated international textile artist, Helen M. Stevens, will be in Ely demonstrating how you can embroider a lifelike, realistic floral portrait in just one hour.
Featured flowers will be "Heart's-ease" and "Forget-me-not" synchronising with SAAFA's "A Stitch in my Heart" project commemorating the end of WWI. Also including illustrated talk on Helen's signature techniques and a chance to ask her advice on your own embroidery.

Please bring your own small, sharp scissors and an embroidery hoop (tambour hoop) no larger than 6". (Some small hoops may be purchased/borrowed on the day, but numbers are limited!)
Takes place in the Cathedral Centre.
In 1981 Helen established her Studio, True Embroideries, since when her original embroideries have become internationally well-known and are now in collections worldwide.
She has exhibited widely, both in one woman exhibitions at a variety of venues and with the Society of Women Artists, initially at the Westminster Gallery and more recently the Mall Galleries in London. Other early venues include The Mary Rose exhibition, The British Museum "Making of England" and the Palace of Westminster plus several exhibitions overseas.
