This weekend saw Huntingdon Gymnastics Club junior boys take the team bronze medal in the U12s at the Pegasus open, Maidstone, Kent; having also taken the Bronze at the U14s Teams back in March. Team-mates Charlie Hutchinson, Harry O'Driscol, Owen Harrison and Patrick Murphy deservedly rejoiced in their result after solid performances. Patrick Murphy also won gold on the pommels horse in the U12s.
Winning the gold on the pommels in U14s was our Tony Duchars; the last time Huntingdon's boys won both pommels gold's at the Pegasus, was in 2000 with Louis Smith and Daniel Keatings. Tony, Benji Eyre, James Cook and Joe Brown all competed extremely well, James and Joe particularly so, putting out new moves in their routines.
The day before had Jake Jarman take the overall silver medal plus gold and two silver apparatus medals. Harry Gracie got the silver medal on the Vault and Christian Norman came in the top 6. Jacob Tuck, Josh Thurston and Matthew Toulson all competed really well in their debut at the Pegasus Development Competition. Coaches Ben Howells and Steve Davison are proud of all the boys' routine performances and competitive spirit. The boys look forward and prepare for the British Champs at the end of June in Stoke.
