Theatretrain has been providing part time training in the performing arts since 1992.
These days all performers are taught the three skills of drama, dance and singing. Everyone needs to move, to sing, to speak and act. These of course are also life skills. To live our lives with confidence makes such a difference to our success in the world. Theatretrain follows a step by step approach to learning. The trick is to operate as a team because in the performing arts people learn faster if they are part of a team - it is also more fun.
What is different about the work of Theatretrain is that it specialises in creating large scale productions in major West End Theatres. Last year, Huntingdon Theatretrain performed at the Royal Albert Hall. Imagine the thrill of performing live, with a professional band on some of the finest stages in the world. Imagine the pleasure of creating shows about the 20th century or The Beatles or James Bond. The fun of finding out how live theatre works by actually doing it. That is a discovery that stays with a young person forever. Performing to a large scale audience demonstrates that young people can find their voice and project it in a passionate way in a live performance. We also perform local productions. These productions involve the pupils in learning how to take to a stage and create quality performances to the audience. This then gives them the confidence and focus to engage them in forthcoming performances at London Theatres.
