Cambridgeshire Firefighters have a busy Bonfire Weekend
| Published: 9th November 2010 11:10 |
FIREFIGHTERS were kept busy this weekend with numerous 999 calls about bonfires and fireworks. 16 of these were thankfully false alarms, where the fire turned out to be a controlled bonfire.
As well as the false alarms, firefighters were called to nine incidents on Friday and Saturday nights.
Andy Tucker, Risk Manager for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Although firefighters were kept busy over the bonfire night weekend, it is encouraging to see that a minority of these incidents were actual fires.
"We are glad that residents on the whole were able to enjoy Bonfire night safely and sensibly."
