Stratford girl wins Olympic Gold! 
Christine Ohuruogu marked a sensational
comeback by winning the women's 400
metre final at the Beijing Olympic Games. 
Christine did not turn up for out of
competition tests and automatically received
a life-time ban by the British Olympic Association.
The decision was overturned in the High Court
allowing her to compete.  Team GB have done
fantastically well so far winning more gold
medals than ever before.



There were many Sporting Heroes who won Olympic Gold
medals  before many of us were born.  You've all heard of
FLO JO, JOHNNY WEISSMULLER (who became Tarzan),
JESSIE OWENS, MARK SPITZ but what about ERIC LIDDELL,
EMIL ZAPOTEK  or JIM THORPE who was acclaimed at
the time as "the Greatest Athelete in the world"?
