Dance Festival launches in Ilford Town Centre

Around 2000 people joined a dance extravaganza in Ilford
Town Centre on Saturday 5 June for the launch of the 20th
Redbridge Dance Festival.
Residents enjoyed spectacular routines performed by
professional dancers and local dance groups from the
T-Mobile Big Dance Bus.
The free event was the first programmed for this year's Dance
Festival and showcased a variety of dance styles including waltz,
hip hop, contemporary and tango. Across the day there were
performances by Guntal Bollywood, Turbelles and Streetz Ahead.

The Festival, run by Redbridge Council in partnership with
East London Dance and T-Mobile Big Dance Bus, runs until
17 July will feature a range of events including A Lovers Journey
dance performance on 4 July in Valentines Mansion Gardens
and ‘Dance Week', three special performances from around
the world at the Kenneth Moore Theatre.
The Big Dance Bus also joins a range of events as part of a
Dancing Wheels theme, running through the festival which
also includes roller disco and a boogie n buggy event for parents
and toddlers at the teddy bears picnic on 10 July and much more.
