Much-loved children's charity Rainbow Trust will be marking their 25th Anniversary in style this October with a glittering silver jubilee ball to be held at London's prestigious Savoy Hotel.
The famous hotel, which was recently re-opened after a £220m facelift, was the site of Rainbow's first ever London-based ball and, in a fitting tribute, the charity will be returning to the venue to celebrate its landmark year.
This splendid evening is being sponsored by global investment bank Nomura, who recently announced a two-year fundraising partnership with the charity.
Hosted by Downton Abbey creator Lord (Julian) Fellowes, with an exclusive auction by author Lord (Jeffrey) Archer, the ball is expected to attract a wealth of celebrities, all stepping out to show their support for the charity which helps families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness.
West End singer Sophie Evans is set to perform a touching rendition of the classic ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow' at the event.
Heather Wood, Chief Executive of Rainbow Trust said: "It is very fitting to be returning to this particular venue to celebrate our 25th Anniversary and quite amazing to think how far we have come in 25 years.
Heather is one of the rare Chief Executives at the helm of a charity she contributed to building from the ground up, joining the fledgling trust as its second employee, and working from the shed of the charity's inspirational founder Bernadette Cleary OBE.
The charity has since grown into one of the UK's most-loved children's charities. Each year its devoted care teams provide expert social palliative care to almost 1,200 families across England faced with the unimaginable ordeal of caring for a child battling a life threatening or terminal illness.
The Silver Jubilee Ball will take place on Thursday 13 October, starting with a Champagne reception in the Savoy's stunning River Room, followed by the main event in the Ballroom, which includes dinner, a speech by the charity's founder Bernadette Cleary and entertainment from the fantastic Chance Band through to 1am.
Tickets for this exclusive event cost £250 per head.
