Writer, Comedian and Producer
Comedy Performing
Began performing stand-up comedy in January 2005 appears regularly in and around London. Opened her first comedy club that March.
Hosts both her own comedy evenings and corporate comedy events.
Has appeared in sketches for United Colours of Comedy and Channel 6 for BEN TV.
Recently returned from The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and appearing in a sell out show of her own devising – The Automated Housewives at The Pleasance Theatre.
Writing
Has written: for Jo Caulfield and Radio 4, for Victor Daniel at Channel 6, for Amused Moose sketch shows, numerous comedy sketches and has a sit-com in development.
Her 2006, 3 hander, Edinburgh show was a sell out and prompted Three Weeks to say: This is charming elegant fun with just a pinch of evil….providing many a witty observation, and a few snatches of deeply intelligent political satire.
Others of course were not so kind and one reviewer complained that the show ‘failed to cure her hangover’
Her show for 2007 – ‘Personal Shopper’ is already attracting interest.
Producing and Sponsorship
As well as producing her own comedy shows Kayla produced The Automated Housewives and following her success in raising sponsorship for her own projects is now acting as a sponsorship consultant.
Additional Information
Kayla is an accomplished photographer and has had work exhibited in London and Norfolk. A multi media graphic poster was chosen to hang in St Bride’s Printing Library, London.
