Thousands of revellers will paint the town green in Brent on Saturday 17 March to mark the biggest day in the Irish community's calendar.
The streets around Willesden Green are set to come alive to the sound of music, dance and performance as part of a day of fun and activity to mark St Patrick's Day. All events are free.
Among the highlights will be the parade setting off from Willesden Green tube station, High Street, at 2pm to Willesden Green Library Centre. The award-winning Dublin All Stars marching band will lead the procession of local dance troupes, schools and performers all in beautiful traditional costumes.
An afternoon and evening of entertainment is planned at Willesden Green Library Centre, at 95 High Road.
The audience are sure to thrill to punk rockers Neck summoning up the spirit of the Pogues, a quartet from the London Irish Symphony Orchestra entertaining in a more classical style and the local trio Cushtie playing traditional Irish country folk music.
"On behalf of Brent Council, I would like to wish everyone a happy St Patrick's Day"
There will also be a chance for revellers to take to the floor and dance the Céilí to the sounds of the Celtic Colleens and an exhibition of Irish art in the Gallery. Crafts, music, workshops, storytelling and traditional food and drink can be sampled throughout the day.
St Patrick's Day events are funded by Brent Council and organised in cooperation with community groups.
Brent Mayor, Councillor Bertha Joseph said: "On behalf of Brent Council, I would like to wish everyone a happy St Patrick's Day".
"Brent Council has supported St Patrick's Day for 11 years and we are the only council to celebrate it on the day itself. With the biggest Irish population in Britain, this is one of the highlights of Brent's festivals calendar."
