Refurbishment of Manor House Library.

Manor House Library
You may or may not be aware that there is a planning application in for a major refurbishment and improvement of the Manor House Library - the works are approved by English Heritage and will make the library accessible, and bring all areas of the building into use and thus make the building viable (which it is not currently).
Unfortunately the Manor House user group want to keep the building as it is (essentially in disrepair and unable to be fully used) and they have registered 45 letters of objection to the proposal as against 16 letters of support received from others. This is the third proposal for the Library and if it fails it will mean that a building which is effectively the centre-piece of the Lee Manor will be under threat.

The planning process is moving on, and there is still time for you to register your thoughts on the scheme - we believe it is vitally important that we all show a level of community interest rather than risk it withering away for a third (and probabaly final) time. The proposal is before Mayor & Cabinet in June of this year and we want it approved. If you have not done so, do please take a moment to email Louise Holland at planning@lewisham.gov.uk and register your support! Just click on the link - it could not be easier, so why not do it right now? Thank you Charles Batchelor - Chairman Ralph White - Deputy Chairman
