Shaddow puppet Theatre - Aladdin steps out from the shadows in Northwood!

Author: Joy Tracy Published: 18th March 2011 15:16

Northwood Community Arts present the fourth in a successful series of children's theatre shows and creative workshops for those aged 4 plus and their parents. On Saturday 4 June 2011 a shadow puppet making workshop will take place from 11.30am-1.00pm and will be followed by 2 performances of Aladdin at 2.00pm and 3.45pm in The Hall at St John's United Reformed Church, Hallowell Road, Northwood. Booking is essential and is available through the ArtReach box office on 01628 675800 or by emailing  mailto:northwoodarts@artreach.biz

Indigo Moon Theatre will lead up to 30 children in making their own shadow puppets and in the exploration of contemporary shadow theatre techniques that can be simply recreated at home.

The story of Aladdin, from the Arabian Nights, is set in the Middle East and told through Giant Shadow theatre, the traditional, centuries old, art form. Indigo Moon uses an original music score by Haviel Perdana to bring the performance into the 21st Century. The audience will follow Aladdin's wild and dangerous dreams and adventures through a land of enchantment and strange mythical creatures as portrayed by Indigo Moon's expert puppeteer Anna Ingleby.

Tickets to see Aladdin are priced at £6 per person or £20 for a family of four. The workshop tickets are price at £5 per child (accompanying adult is free of charge) and booking is recommended to avoid disappointment!
