Post Office closures to be discussed at Areas Committees

Each Area Committee will consider a report on the Post Office proposals including the likely impact of a closure for the local community. The item will be discussed at the start of each meeting as part of the 'Open Forum' where the public are invited to comment.
Councillor Maggie Clay, Executive Member for Adults & Health, said: "We urge Stockport residents and businesses to make their views known at their local Area Committee. It is important for the Council to hear the views of the community so that we can give the Post Office a clear response. Small businesses may also be affected by the proposed changes in their local area."
The meeting dates are:
Monday 30 June: Stepping Hill Area Committee, Stockport Town Hall
Monday 30 June: Tame Valley Area Committee, Stockport Town Hall
Tuesday 1 July: Cheadle Area Committee, Ladybridge Park Residents' Club, Edenbridge Road
Tuesday 1 July: Werneth Area Committee, Werneth Young People's Centre, George Lane, Bredbury
Wednesday 2 July: Four Heatons Area Committee, Heaton Centre, Thornfield Road
Wednesday 2 July: Marple Area Committee, Marple Library, Memorial Park
Thursday 3rd July: Victoria Area Committee, Stockport Town Hall
Thursday 3rd July: Bramhall Area Committee, Bramhall Village Club, Melbourne Road.
All the meetings start at 6pm except Bramhall which starts at 6.30pm.
The Post Office 'Network Change Programme' lists 11 Stockport Post Offices out of 41 for closure. The 11 Post Offices are:

. 350 Buxton Road, Great Moor
. 168 Hall Street, Offerton
. 89-91 Heaton Road, Heaton Moor
. 94 Lowfield Road, Shaw Heath
. 133 Buxton Road, Heaviley
. 54 Osborne Street, Bredbury
. 204 Stockport Road, Rose Hill, Marple
. 167 Strines Road, Strines
