Ryanair Closes Seven European Basis - Manchester Airport Unaffected

Ryanair announced yesterday that they were making substantial capacity cutbacks for its Winter Schedule (08/09) especially from Stanstead - with a 14 % capacity reduction for flights in and out of Stansted Airport.
Manchester Airport has escaped unscathed from the temporary closure of seven Ryanair bases across Europe, those effected are Basel, Budapest, Krakow, Palma, Rzeszow, Salzburg, affecting four destinations served from Liverpool airport.
Ryanair does not fly to any of the seven airports from Manchester so flights here will remain unaffected, the bases will be closed between November 4 and December 19 affecting 2,000 flights with the loss of 300,000 passengers. Oil prices have been given as one of the main reasons.
