It's official - Stockport Council's School Library Service provides borough residents with excellent customer service.
The Council's School Library Service is celebrating after gaining Charter Mark accreditation - the government's national standard for customer service excellence for organisations delivering public services.
The Charter Mark assessor described the service as "customer-focused and determined to provide the best level of service possible for all its customers". He added that "staff show a real passion for what they do and this is reflected in the service they deliver. Customers recognise this and appreciate the efforts that staff put in".
The service provides schools across the borough with library materials and professional advice to support pupils in their academic studies.
Users of the service have commented that it is "outstanding" and "very reflective and not afraid to look at different ways of working" and "staff really get to know you and therefore can offer a personalised service".
The Leader of Stockport Council, Councillor David Goddard presented the Charter Mark certificate to staff from the Council's School Library Service at a ceremony at the Dialstone Centre.
Councillor Shan Alexander, Executive Member for Leisure, said: "The service received their original Charter Mark some years ago but this successful reaccreditation shows that they have been determined to keep up the good work and provide an efficient, cost-effective and responsive service for schools. I would like to congratulate all the staff involved and wish them continued success in their work supporting schools across the borough."
