Music to their ears!

Black Minority Ethnic Development Youth Worker Mohammed Yasin with young carers Leon Goodier and Ryan Topping get to grips with Asian and African drums as part of the music project at Werneth Young People's Centre, Bredbury.
Young carers from Stockport are making sweet music thanks to the Council-led Community Pride programme.
The carers are being put through their paces by professional musicians and DJ's and are writing their own music track with original sounds and lyrics.
The project was set-up to help young carers who often miss out on parts of their social life as they spend time attending to friends and family. The six week programme lets the group find out more about music, instruments and how to mix and record different sounds.
Councillor Mark Weldon, Executive Member for Children and Young People, said: "This project gives young carers the opportunity to develop their communication and team-working skills. It's a fantastic opportunity for them to find out more about music - something they all share a huge passion for. It gives them a much deserved break from their usual responsibilities as young carers and provides a safe space for them to express themselves and have fun."
Young carers are individuals aged under 18 who, without payment, provide help and support to friends, neighbours or relatives who are unable to manage because of frailty, illness or disability.
This task is part of a project called 'Volunteering Matters' co-ordinated by Stockport's Services for Young People.
