KTBF Team GB
Joshua (aged 11) and Jacob O'Connor (aged 8) are brothers from Cheadle Hulme who attend at Hursthead Junior School. Joshua started training in Tae Kwondo at the age of 7. Now 11, he has achieved his black belt in freestyle Tae Kwondo and is training for his second dan in November 2008. Jacob is 8 years of age and is training for his first dan black belt which he hopes to achieve in November 2008. They have both competed in local and national competitions and have gained British titles over numerous years in both point sparring and forms. Both have gained selection for Team GB under the leadership of the WTKA. Joshua and Jacob were selected for Team GB to attend at the World Championships in Italy 2007. They remain with Team GB and are to attend again at the next World Championships in 2008. Both boys earned their places by competing against the best athletes in the country. They are students with Energize Tae Kwondo and are looking for your support.
KTBF Team GB has been formed for just over three years. The Great Britain Amateur
Athletes Team will be competing in many national and international tournaments all around the world. This year that will consist of Isle of Man Open, WTKA world championships in Italy in Nobember and hopefully the American Open in Florida, along with at least siz other tournamnets in the UK. There are over 100 athletes that form the members of the Tournament Team. Joshua and Jacob are seeking your help with fund raising so that they may achieve their dreams of competing in such prestigious sporting events and challenging for a World Title.
Fundraising
To help both raise funds for the trip to the Tournaments, and to help towards other expenses including the team kit, on behalf of the British Team, we ask for your kind donations in support of such great local talent.
Energize Tae Kwondo Martial Arts Club
Energize Tae Kwondo is a martial arts club held in Bramhall Recreation Centre on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6pm until 7pm and on Sundays from 12noon until 2pm. The club is run by Sensai Carl Thomas who is the current world champion, and Brian Bannister. It is a fun way of teaching the children self defence and discipline. If anybody is interesting in coming down, just attend one of the classes for a free trial lesson. Carl and Brian have a fabulous rapport with children and come highly recommended.
