Sharks were hammered 23-4 at home to the 2007-08 domestic winners who, with victory, stay top of the table with three successive victories.
Although the result was not a great shock with Timperley having been one of the clubs to beat in recent years, the scoreline was very telling as the visitors overwhelmed their hosts by 19 goals.
Former winners Heaton Mersey moved up to second place with their third victory in a row - and only trail Timperley by goal difference.
Mersey's comfortable 13-1 win at home to bottom club Wilmslow edged them ahead of Mellor on goal difference.
Mellor registered their third win of the season thanks to a 13-5 home triumph against Timperley A.
Wirral recorded their first of the season with a 14-3 victory at home to Leeds Penguins, while Liverpool versus Brooklands Hulmeians was postponed.
This Saturday (11th October) Timperley host Mellor at Stockport Road, a match the visitors will look to spring a surprise in if they are going to mount a serious title-challenge this term.
Mersey are away to Brooklands Hulmeians, while Sharks will be hoping to bounce back against Wirral.
Wilmslow go in search of their first win of the season when they entertain Leeds Penguins, while Timperley A host Liverpool.
