Stockport County FC VIPs, including Manager Jim Gannon, joined fans and Council members to officially open the latest exhibition at Stockport Story Museum. '125 years of Stockport County' was launched as part of the Active Stockport campaign and the exhibition showcases a variety of rare items, trophies, film clips and interactives to celebrate the rich history of the
club and its 125th birthday.
Council members join Stockport County VIPs to thanks fans for their contribution to the exhibition.

The collection includes unique objects donated by fans and former players, for example medals and caps won by players, as well as programmes, posters and pendants from international tours, many of which have never previously been on display. Amongst the intriguing objects is an impressive clock that was presented to one of County's key players of the day, Frank Newton in 1928, season tickets from 1895-96 and 1901-02 and the winner's medal awarded to 1930's star, Billy Bocking.
The museum will also be showcasing a variety of silverware, including the 1936-37 Division 3 North Shield and 1966-67 Division 4 trophy, alongside the 1996-97 runners-up shield and medals, with pride of place going to the play-off trophy won at Wembley earlier this year.
Jim Gannon has provided audio clips of his favourite County moments and archive film highlighting some of County's most memorable games will be shown on interactive screens.

Come along and celebrate not only the birthday of one of the oldest clubs in the football league, but also their recent success at Wembley and subsequent promotion. They are certainly a team the borough can be proud of!"
Des Hinks, spokesman for Stockport County FC, said: "Stockport County is absolutely delighted that Stockport Story Museum has decided to celebrate the club's 125th anniversary with this special exhibition. There are some truly unique objects on display and I would urge everyone to take the opportunity to visit the museum and celebrate the rich history of Stockport
County."
The exhibition is on display from Tuesday 30th September until 1st March 2009 at Stockport Story Museum, Market Place, Stockport, SK1 1ES.
Children can also book onto the various football themed activities which will be running during the October half term. Come and create an animation of Edgeley Park, a football banner or drop into the family fun day.
