YOUR NUMBERS UP

Motorists in Stockport are urged to attend a car crime clinic to combat registration plate theft.
The event will take place at the Moortop pub, 172 Heaton Moor Road, Heaton Moor on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 October between 10am and 2pm. Officers from Greater Manchester Police and the members from the AA will be on hand to provide crime prevention advice and fit number plates with new screws that cannot be easily removed.
In the majority of cases, registration plates are stolen overnight while they are parked outside the owner's home.
Criminals put number plates on cars of a similar make or model and give them a false identity, and these vehicles are then used for a range of offences from burglary and robbery to driving off from petrol stations without paying.
Crime Reduction Advisor Rachel O'Brien said: "I would urge people to come along with their vehicles and get their number plate secured free of charge on Saturday or Sunday. It will only take a few minutes, is totally free and greatly reduces the chance of your vehicle being targeted.
"This simple measure will also save people a lot of time and worry."
