Songs, comedy, group acting and dancing, were based around Popular culture, children's shows, Disney & Stage musical themes from the past 1- 4 decades such as Dr Who - Who? And the famous Tardis, The Lonely goatherd - Sound of Music, Snow White and the 7 dwarfs, Postman Pat, Circus, Thriller, High Street Musical, Street Dance, In the Air tonight, Star Drops with (rain drops), Pirates, Under the Sea, Never go to Heaven, Day-O!, The Snowman and Abba songs/Abba style 70's dress - Mama Mia.

Beavers, Cubs, Scouts Explorers and Leaders donned fabulous costumes, stage make-up, hair pieces which would have done the Palace Theatre proud.

Stage and sound crews organised light settings, and music and props were spectacularly produced by a team of dedicated back stage crew who clearly knew what they were doing.

And possibly the cherry on the cake was seeing all this performed by close to 200 people of all ages who were clearly having the time of their lives!
In previous years the show had been held in the Scout's headquarters with 5 extra portakabins being bought in to provide dressing and refreshments rooms, but the portakabin supplier could no longer provide these and a new venue was found at the Peter Barkworth Theatre.

Stuart Dyall the Group Scout Leader said "The youngsters are the stars of the show tonight. Preparing for Frivolous 9 has meant they have had to adapt to the disciplines of learning lines, dance routines, getting their timings right, keeping quiet when necessary and coping with the nerves of standing on stage before you all.

It has also meant them sacrificing some fun, activities and games in order to rehearse. We quite purposely have only a short rehearsal time (from returning after Christmas to now) because we know prolonged rehearing would become a chore for the youngsters.

Such a short lead in time inevitably means that some routines will go wrong or lines fluffed but we see this as part of the fun and we hope you will enter the spirit of the occasion by applauding the bits that go astray as loudly as those that go right."

Stuart Dyall who is standing down as group leader after 32 years said "The show is one of the occasions when the whole of 2nd Cheadle join together on the same night from the youngest Beavers to cubs, Scouts, explorers and leaders and total about t 185 people.

Stuart Dyall also went on to thank Colin Rankin for organising Frivolous. Colin Rankin wound up the evening by getting the audience and performers out of their seats in the finale with song and dance and declared "2nd Cheadle Scouts - You are second to none!"
