One of the UK's leading business networking specialists came to Stockport to speak to companies on how to become more confident and effective networkers.
Will Kintish provided expert advice to members of Stockport's Financial & Professional and Creative sectors.
The event gave practical advice on how to network and communicate with prospective business clients to maximise opportunities.
Will was invited by Stockport Economic Alliance and Stockport Council to speak to members of Stockport's two growing sector networking groups. The event proved highly successful with around 70 local businesses attending.
Both sectors make an important contribution to Stockport's economy. The networks have been running for over a year now and have proved popular amongst Stockport's financial and creative communities with membership growing steadily.
The South Manchester Financial & Professional Network is a free quarterly event for those working in the sector such as solicitors, accountants, management consultants and financial advisers to meet other businesses, share their experiences and to increase the number of business opportunities available to them.
The Stockport Creative Industries Network offers the creative community the opportunity to debate issues, network with other enterprises and discusses joint collaboration on projects. Stockport has particular strengths within the advertising, photography, design and new media sectors and Stockport Economic Alliance is keen to attract new membership.
Councillor Kevin Hogg, Executive Member for Regeneration, said: "This unique event really underlined the thriving range of businesses we have in Stockport in the Financial & Professional and Creative sectors. We are committed to helping these companies and these sectors expand their businesses even further and this event has given them some of the tools they need to do just that.
"This event provided an opportunity for two of Stockport's strongest sectors to meet allowing for interaction between two distinct sectors with complementary skills, interests and opportunities."
