Crossroads Care Cheshire West, Wirral and Shropshire are a registered charity specialising in providing respite care to carers.
On Saturday 9th June they are holding a 'Sing for Carers' concert featuring all female, fun packed choir 'A Handbag of Harmonies'.
A Handbag of Harmonies are a choir of vivacious women from Chester who create a party wherever they go. With their pink feather boas and glitzy handbags, they sing in four-part harmony with dazzling choreography and guarantee to leave audiences with a smile on their faces.
In 2008 they entered their first ever competition , the BBC's prime time Saturday night talent show 'Last Choir Standing'. A Handbag of Harmonies was the only women's choir to reach the top 15 out of nearly 1000 entries. Judge Russell Watson commented 'I can't remember having so much fun watching a choir before!'
Led by the charismatic Matt Baker, they sing a wide repertoire of songs from the 1930's right up the the present day. These include the Trolley Song by Judy Garland, Think by Aretha Franklin and Take That's Rule the World. They have performed at venues across the UK including London's Bloomsbury Theatre.
The event is being held at Christ Church on Kings Road in Bebington. Tickets are just £5 each which includes refreshments.
