Neston Village Fair 2008 took place on Saturday 5th July, with a theme of Entertainment, Let's Celebrate 08!
Mayor Keith Butcher signs up to AboutMyArea
Given that the day started with torrential rain, the organisers and stall-holders had their work cut out to get the fair up and running in time for the kick-off, but by 1pm a fabulous array of tents, gazebos, rides and stage area were in place on Comrade's Field.
For most of the afternoon the sun shone, and the fair was extremely well attended by the local community. The traditional parade started from Ladies Walk, led by the Ellesmere Port Sea Cadets band, and included a cavalcade of vintage cars.
Local councillor Judith Pugh crowned the Rose Queen, and the fair was declared officially open by Mayor Keith Butcher, who also took time out to register with AboutMyArea during the afternoon!
Performances taking place on the stage included Little Actors Theatre Club and Drama Tots and the choirs of Woodfall Primary School and Neston Primary School.
AboutMyArea had a stall at the fair, inviting members of the community to register with the website - and a huge thank you to those of you that did.
The winners of our Village Fair competitions are announced below, and for a true taste of the day's activities, we hope you enjoy our Photo Gallery as well.
