Carols by candlelight round off a significant year for St Thomas' in Parkgate

A festive candle-lit carol singing event took place in Parkgate this week.
Local residents enjoyed a lovely atmosphere in the grounds of St Thomas' Church in Mostyn Square. The Church re-opened this year following a huge restoration project, with much of the funding raised by the people of Parkgate.
Earlier in the year a service of blessing was carried out by the Bishop of Chester, and a local couple became the first to marry at the church.
St Thomas' will also be holding a Christmas Day service at 9.30am.
A spokesman said today: "Very big thanks to everyone who made the Carols by candlelight event such a success; the helpers, the brass band - and to everyone who came - which we estimate to have been over 200!
"The event continues with the Christmas morning service at 9.30am - please do come - all welcome."
Our thanks to Mike Wellman for the photographs of last night's event.
