Police Commissioner Donates Funds to Neston Boxing Project

Author: Carol Stott Published: 18th December 2013 08:29

Neston Parish Church Youth in the Community (Sport4all) received a cheque earlier this month from the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire.

John Dwyer presents funds to Neston youth boxing project

John Dwyer donated £1300 from his Commissioner's Fund on Thursday 5th December, when he came along to the Youth Zone in Neston Youth & Community Centre to see the project in action.

The money will help us to continue with our Thursday evening Boxing project. We hope that in the future we can expand our evening to include adults, as well as football when the weather gets better and the nights lighter.

The funding also allows us to continue to offer this project to all young people for free.

We have now finished for the Christmas holidays but will be restarting on Thursday 16th January from 6pm - 8pm: 6pm for 7 - 10 year olds,  7pm for 10 - 14 years.

When we restart please come along and join in this project which will help you to get fit, learn some new skills, and have some fun.

Well done, Carol! I admire all those who spend time keeping young people active. I never enjoyed boxing when I was at school, but I suspect there's now less risk of broken noses! Young people often get a bad press, but these are obviously keeping fit and enjoying themselves.

You need to log in before you can do that! It's only a quick registration process to join the AMA network and completely free.
