A Christmas Message from Sgt Daniel Greenhalgh

Author: Sgt Daniel Greenhalgh Published: 20th December 2016 17:30

2016 has been a busy year with plenty of challenges along the way!

Sgt Daniel GreenhalghSgt Daniel Greenhalgh

There have been some serious incidents for which offenders have been arrested swiftly, put before the courts or are awaiting sentencing and others who are yet to face court action.

There have been Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) incidents for which a number of teens have been subject to the ASB process and has more recently led to a reduction in reported incidents. We have made it quite clear to those intent on committing acts against the community that we will not tolerate it and with community support will act upon any information we receive.

As your policing team, we have worked closely with the community and with our partner agencies, having the aim of being there for the community, victims, justice and there where and when the community needed us. We will continue with these force commitments into 2017 under the "We're here" campaign, which I very much believe fits our purpose.

We have attended may community events to celebrate with you and see the achievement such events have in bringing the community together. It has been an absolute pleasure for my second year looking after the Neston team and community and I know we have achieved some great things, (not all of which I have been able to disclose!).

I wish all Carrie's readers, and those who take an interest in local policing, a very safe and joyful Christmas as we approach a new year, that no doubt will bring more challenges and events to look forward to.

Police will, as ever, be working 24/7 to keep you all safe over the Christmas period, so please do be careful, but enjoy this festive period.

PS. We all know that Santa likes a tipple, but NO ONE is exempt from drink driving. So, if you have a Rudolf who doesn't drink, use them wisely!
