Red Noses & PJ's at Neston Primary
| Published: 13th March 2009 23:13 |
Staff and pupils at Neston Primary School wore their pyjamas to school today to raise funds for Comic Relief.
The children from the Burton Road School also organised a raffle of red prizes, baked and sold cakes and collected loose change in pillowcases.
Classteacher and 'Red Nose Day organiser' Suzanne Jones said: "We were delighted with the response and the support from the children, parents and friends of the school. We raised £332, which is a fabulous amount. The day was great fun too!"
The running total for Red Nose Day 2009 at 10pm on Friday night was well over £32,000,000. This exceeded expectations, given the "credit crunch" and was boosted by some £3.5m by the efforts of a group of A-List celebrities who climbed to the summit of Africa's highest peak - Mount Kilimanjaro - to raise funds for malaria-preventing mosquito nets. Details of how you can donate are below the Photo Gallery.
AboutMyArea would like to thank Rob Golding of Neston Primary School for providing such fanatastic photographs of the day.
