"Our CH64" - the results are in!
| Published: 24th March 2009 11:05 |
All the ideas and comments from the recent "Our CH64" project have been now been published in a comprehensive report.
Local organisations, including ch64inc, the Neston Civic Society, the new Neston Community and Youth Centre, Neston & District Chamber of Trade and AboutMyArea.co.uk, joined forces and invited anyone living in Neston, Little Neston, Burton, Ness, Parkgate or Willaston to think of ideas on how to improve the things that matter to them.
People were able to send in ideas, use the internet and attend a specially arranged open event.

The "Planning Your Future" event was held in Neston Town Hall and over 200 people of all ages came along to give their ideas and views on how to make practical improvements to Neston and its surrounding areas.
A group of school children worked up their ideas in class and turned up with their teacher on the day to hand over their proposals.
Comments and ideas covered a very wide range of topics from Neston town centre to the area's leisure facilities, parks, transport and tourism.
Research company Opinion Research Services have now collated and analysed the findings and prepared a report for the group to take forward.
Robin Hughes of ch64inc said: "We are pleased to present this report as another example of how the CH64 community is looking ahead. It will, in the first place, go to Ellesmere Port and Neston Borough Council and then to Cheshire West and Chester Council for its consideration as it assumes responsibility for all council services in the CH64 area on 1 April.
"The organisations involved in the project have really enjoyed working together and have themselves been stimulated by the interest and by the responses. However, this is only the beginning and we hope that everyone in the CH64 area will want to get involved with us as we work through the next part of the process."

Paper copies are available at Neston Town Hall and from ch64inc.
AboutMyArea would like to thank everyone that has already participated, and we very much look forward to continuing this initiative in partnership with the other organisations involved.

I think we should be grateful to all the people who have obviously worked hard to find out what people in CH64 want for the future. Its now up to all of us to remind our new councillors in CWAC not to forget the Neston area.
I was pleased to see a lot of people want better public transport (paragraphs 15, 64, 86, 87, 94, 95). Ironically, to get to the meeting at 7.30 this evening at Ness Gardens you cant use a bus (22A and 272/ 273 give up at teatime), and there's no footpath between Ness and Ness Gardens (as pointed out in paragraphs 56, 73). Im going on my bike, but I guess a lot of people will drive to this meeting about the environment!
You need to log in before you can do that! It's only a quick registration process to join the AMA network and completely free.
