"A main aim of World Book Day is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading."
Pupils at Neston Primary school enjoyed a fun packed day to celebrate World Book Day.
The children and staff dressed as their favourite character from a book or came to school dressed in their pyjamas carrying their favourite bedtime book.
Pupils were treated to some superb story sessions at Neston library and in school. A competition was organised to find the best book reviews and most creative costumes.
Classteacher Miss K Thornton, who co-ordinated the events on the day, said: "World Book Day is always an enjoyable day and the children and their parents really enter into the spirit of the event.
"It is a great day to be involved in and we are always surprised by the level of imagination and creativity shown. The children and staff had a fabulous day."
