The Snack Shack is open for business as Neston Primary achieves brand new Healthy Schools status.
Pupils and staff organised a number of events today to celebrate their new award, which was presented to members of the School Council by Cheshire West and Chester Council's Healthy Schools co-ordinator Ruth Boulton.
Assembly was a little different on the day, as all the staff and pupils joined in with a vigorous excercise routine to the tune of 'YMCA.'

The School's brand new healthy tuck shop was also declared open. The 'Snack Shack' has been decorated with designs suggested by the pupils during a competition organised by the School Council. Transformation of a previously dull shed into a colourful and welcoming tuck shop was achieved thanks to the time and expertise of Zaria Shreef and a small team of volunteers from CAN Group.
During a morning of related activities, the children also took part in a 'Workout,' running, jumping, throwing, skipping and bouncing to raise funds for the NSPCC.
Head Teacher Rob Golding said: "We are delighted to have achieved Healthy Schools status and I am very grateful to the children, members of staff and friends of the school for their energy and hard work.
"The award recognises all the superb work that takes place here to keep children safe and healthy, and to broaden their experiences.
"To encourage participation in sports and activities, we currently have nineteen after-school clubs on offer to our pupils, and the vast majority are free! Activities currently available include art, hockey, netball, French, StreetDance, cookery, drama, sign language, gardening, multi-sports, cross-country running, judo, country dancing, choir, tag rugby, first aid, design and technology.
"We have plans to add even more activities in the future, including rock climbing, boxercise and sailing. The Healthy Schools award recognises what we've done and currently do, but we are determined to build upon this award and keep improving what we do at Neston Primary School."
