Neston Primary pupils make an outstanding contribution to their school and the wider Community - says Ofsted
Staff, pupils, parents and Governors of Neston Primary School, Burton Road, are celebrating after Ofsted inspectors judged the school to be good with outstanding features.
Last month a team of three inspectors spent two days at the school observing lessons, looking at pupil's work, and meeting with staff and governors.
The school's report was published this week and Headteacher Rob Golding was delighted with the inspector's judgements. He said: "Since I took over as Headteacher 15 months ago, the staff have all worked incredibly hard and I am so pleased that the report contains so many positive comments about the pupils, staff and Governors.
"I'm proud to work with such a dedicated, creative and hard working team. I would like to sincerely thank the children, their parents, the Governors and our friends in the local community for their support. We're proud to have this kind of recognition but we don't want to be complacent. We want to use this as a spring board to develop the school further."
Comments in the report included:
"By being school councillors, play leaders, buddies and eco-warriors, they make an exceptional contribution to the life of the school. They also have an increasingly high profile in activities in the town."
"The curriculum is good and has some outstanding features, especially the enrichment activities, its international dimension and the quality and range of extra-curricular clubs."
"Pupils' personal development and behaviour are good and their awareness of how to stay safe and the contribution they make to the school and wider community are outstanding."
"Pupils behave well and are very polite and welcoming to visitors."

The publishing of the Ofsted report coincided with the re-opening of the school library after refurbishment.
Part of the room will be used by the school's Learning Mentors to provide extra support for pupils and their parents.
A small group of friends of the school were invited to an official opening at which the Headteacher thanked everyone for their help in transforming the room.
