Staff and pupils of Neston Primary School welcomed a huge number of visitors to their open evening recently.
Cllr Martin Barker, the new Mayor of Neston (centre) attended
the Open Evening.
The event was organised to celebrate the schools 105th birthday and many ex-pupils took the opportunity to enjoy a tour of the school and the chance to reminisce.
Visitors were entertained by the school choir, street dance team, country dance club and musical soloists. Visitors also had the opportunity to try their hand at African drumming, badge making, card making, baking, golf, boxercise and to enjoy a bird of prey demonstration.
A selection of classic cars were also on display, thanks to members of the North Cheshire Classic Car Club. A birthday cake was kindly donated by Sainsbury's and refreshments included cream teas, which proved to be very popular.
New Cheshire West and Chester Councillors Andy Williams and Louise Gittens, along with the new Mayor of Neston - Cllr Martin Barker, were amongst the visitors. The open evening was one of their first public duties since taking on their new roles.
Headteacher Rob Golding said: "We were delighted to see so many people at the event. It was fantastic that ex-pupils, members of the community, current parents, friends of the school and our pupils all participated in our birthday celebrations.
"I would like to thank everyone for coming along and for the many positive comments we received. I would also like to thank the staff for their tremendous work in preparing for the open evening."
