Just Days Left to Enter Neston's Got Talent

It's that time of the year again, when we launch the annual Neston's Got Talent competition.

Entries are invited from anyone* who wants to sing, dance, tell jokes, spin plates - pretty much anything!

What's new for 2012?

By popular demand, this year we will be taking it to a public vote.

Everyone who enters the competition will be invited to audition on Thursday 31st May between 6-8pm at Neston Parish Church.  An audience is positively welcomed - free entry.

A panel of judges will choose the six top acts from the auditions.  The auditions will be videoed (our grateful thanks to Dave Bladen of Elite Video & Television), and the top six acts' video clips will be uploaded onto AboutMyArea, where you, the public, will be able to vote for your favourite.

You have to be registered with AboutMyArea to cast a vote, and only one vote per registration is possible.  70% of the vote will be from the public.  On the day of Neston Village Fair, Saturday 7th July, the top 6 will be invited to perform again, and the judges will add a further 30% of the vote, giving the final total, and our winner/s! 

We are starting out with two age group categories:

• 5-13 years
• 14 + (including adults - there is no upper age limit!)

However, as in previous competitions, if we do not have enough entries in a category, all contestants will be judged together.

*To be eligible to enter, you have to live, work or attend school in the CH64 postcode area.

Win!

We know that most people enter the competition for the fun of it, and for the opportunity to perform, but you will be pleased to know that there will also be prizes!  The details of the prizes are to be confirmed (awaiting a decision after we see how many entries we have in each category above), but the prize fund has been kindly donated by Sainsbury's Neston.

Key dates:

• Entries must be received by no later than 5pm on Thursday 24th May (details of how to enter are on the form)
• Auditions will be held between 6-8pm on Thursday 31st May at Neston Parish Church
• Finals: the top 6 acts will perform at Neston Village Fair on Saturday 7th July, between 1-4pm at Comrade's Field, High Street, Neston.
