The Parade at Parkgate, Neston, was a magnet for birdwatchers, walkers and interested onlookers this weekend.

A combination of the predicted high spring tide, events put on by RSPB and clear and crisp winter weather ensured that space to set up a tripod was at a premium, whilst pubs and restaurants along The Parade did brisk business throughout the day.
Whilst the photographic opportunities were perhaps a tad less dramatic than in December and January (see links at bottom of page), when weather conditions conspired to exacerbate the effects of the tide, nevertheless some beautiful and cleverly composed shots were taken.
We are grateful to everyone who shares their pictures with us. Here are a few from the weekend.
First up, above and below, two shots from Roy Wilson. Speaking of the picture below, Roy said: "This is the elusive Water Rail, spotted just off the Donkey Stand on Saturday February 1st."
Next up we have three from Bernard Rose:

This one just in from Roy Wilson - taken just after high tide on Monday February 3 opposite Bevyl Road. What a cute, sad face!
Three fabulous bird pictures now from Keith Gilbertson:
