Neston's InterACT Youth Theatre has been selected to participate in the 21st Anniversary celebrations of the National Theatre's Connections programme of new writing for young people.
Members of InterACT appeared in The Accordion Shop at Neston
Town Hall earlier this year.
Connections 500 brings together 500 youth companies nationwide to perform twelve plays from the past twenty one years. 2016 will be InterACT's eighth year of involvement with this prestigious event.
In March 2016 the group will stage 'It Snows' by Bryony Lavery and Frantic Assembly at Neston Town Hall. The production will then transfer to The Lowry, Salford Quays in May. InterACT will be visited by a professional director from the NT in Neston. They will write a report on the show and assist with the transfer to The Lowry.
Professional actors Samantha Giblin and Natasha Symms will co-direct the play using the inspiring physical theatre style of Frantic Assembly. In early October Samantha and Natasha spent a weekend working with the writers at the National Theatre, exploring the social issues in the text and experimenting with physical theatre techniques to bring the text's message alive.
As InterACT has an open door policy and the play is an ensemble piece, new cast members aged 12+ would be welcome to come and work on the project. No experience necessary just a willingness to experiment with theatre techniques and a commitment to putting the show on.
The group rehearses at Neston Community and Youth Centre, Burton Road, Neston, CH64 6TD and the group has received assistance from Neston Town Council.
