Cheshire West and Chester Council are to rent out the Station Master's House at Hadlow Road Station in Willaston for a commercial café, prompting the Friends of the popular local landmark to confirm it's business as usual for their community venture.
Cheers! It will be 'business' as usual for Hadlow Road's community café this Summer.
The community pop-up café provided on an ad hoc basis by the Friends of Hadlow Road Station (FHRS) is run by volunteers and will contnue to be open every other Sunday in the summer months, on a non-commercial basis. Any surplus created is used to enhance the local environment at the station.
Chris Hampshire, spokesperson for FHRS said: "FHRS wish to make it clear that the commercial café operated from the Station Master's House is totally independent from the FHRS pop-up community café. A number of FHRS' committee members are exploring how competition between FHRS' pop-up community café and the commercial café can be minimised.
"In the meantime, we hope that our customers will continue to support the FHRS pop-up community café and opening dates in July and August 2017 are 16th & 30th July and 13th & 27th Aug; from 10:30 to 13:30.
"We look forward to seeing new and repeat customers taking advantage of our tasty offerings on these dates whilst taking in the 1950's ambience of Hadlow Road Station!"
