Neston Library is one of several in the Cheshire West area taking part in ‘Fun Palaces' on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 October 2017.
The event is a free, international celebration of community - bringing people together through arts, science, crafts and tech. The first Fun Palaces took place in the UK and other countries in October 2014, with approximately 40,000 participants across 138 venues. By last year, numbers were up to 124,000 people in 292 Fun Palaces worldwide.
Neston Library, along with others in Chester, Blacon, Ellesmere Port and Northwich, will be opened up to the local community and they are looking for volunteers to come along and get involved.
The Council's Cabinet Member for Communities and Well-being, Councillor Louise Gittins said: "Fun Palaces create events that bring together arts and sciences - but above all people - to work together, create together, have fun together, and in doing so, build our own communities, from the grass roots up.
"Are you good at drawing and painting? Can you knit or sew? Can you conduct science experiments or demonstrate tech? Are you in a band or choir? Why not get in touch and be a part of this fun celebration.
"There will be lots of free activities for all ages, run by the community, for the community."
If you would like to volunteer to take part in Fun Palace 2017 please call in to Neston Library, Parkgate Road, Neston or email: email@example.com.
