Over the last few days there has been an increase in crime incidents across the CH64 area, particularly Bendee Road, Ringway, Raeburn Avenue, Morland Avenue and Ashtree Drive.
There have been a number of similar types of offences such as ‘car and key' burglaries, where offenders use an implement to reach through letter boxes or open windows to remove vehicle keys, then steal the vehicles from the driveway, along with theft from motor vehicles. One suspect has been arrested and has been released under investigation, but others remain outstanding.
Sgt Lisa Wilson said: "Please be vigilant and ensure you lock your vehicles, don't leave property in vehicles and leave keys out of sight."
In addition, during the morning of 13th September there was a burglary at an address in Parkgate. The house owner disturbed the offender as he tried to enter through the rear door of her property. The house owner is shaken as a result of what happened and enquiries are continuing to identify the person responsible. Nothing was stolen during the incident.
