Ann Clarkson is a Sainsbury's ‘Local Hero'
Ann Clarkson who works at Sainsbury's Flint has been busy volunteering for their local Rainbows Group. Ann has been helping the group with events such as an Easter Egg Hunt and also volunteering her time to play Paralympic Sports with the group.
Thanks to Sainsbury's matched giving scheme called Local Heroes, Ann, is able to increase the support she have given the charity with £200 for last years voluntary work and an additional £200 for volunteering this year. The cash will be split 50/50 with 3rd Flint Brownies.
Sainsbury's Local Heroes scheme recognises colleagues who dedicate their spare time to local charity work. It helps them to support their own personal charities and make a difference in the local community.
The scheme is now in its 10th year and has supported over 7500 colleague applications with almost £2 million inadditional donations and Sainsbury's is keen to give more.
Store Manager, Allister Moutrie, said, "We are very proud to have colleagues that are so dedicated to helping out in the local community. Ann is an inspiration to us all."
Lynda Madeley from Rainbows added, "We are really grateful for Ann's support and to have this matched by Sainsbury's is an added bonus. It is fantastic that Sainsbury's have given the children the opportunity to play Paralympic Sports such as Sitting Volleyball and Goalball and we are very grateful to them." She added " The monies donated will be used to take the Brownies on a pack holiday and the Rainbows are hoping to buy a new magazine of the 'Rainbows Roundabout' and a large parachute for their play".
