Almost 100,000 new learning resources have been indexed for the first time by Autology, the unique e-learning application for secondary schools and colleges, addressing OFSTED's drive to improve student access to a broad range of high quality education resources.

Autology combines the power of Autonomy's world leading context search software, with the content of the leading education publishers, to further accelerate and enrich student learning with secure, safe and curriculum focused content.

Eric Hobson, Chief Executive Officer, Autology World Ltd, says: "Autology is a dynamic learning environment to which we are constantly adding new content. As a cloud-based resource we are able to provide huge added value to our users by continuously introducing new subject matter which enhances learning.

"Our reputation for excellence means that educational publishers are lining up to partner with us. Just take a look at what we've introduced in June - thousands of high quality resources, including video, from reputable providers including BBC History, BBC Learning Zone, British Pathe have been indexed by key stage and curriculum subject. And for our subscribers, there's also a further 30,000 new resources from World Book and World Book Kids."
.
Autology uses Autonomy's world leading pattern recognition search, which is unlike normal search engines, such as Google or Bing. Autonomy attempts to understand the concepts that are being searched by students. It selects information from a pool of easily searchable premium learning content from providers such as Heinemann, Letts, Lonsdale and World Book, as well as easy access to over 1,000 vetted websites with curriculum content.

The pre-edited content database delivers results specific to the user's learning profile. The search results that a Key Stage Two user searching Ancient Egyptians, versus a user studying GCSEs, is tailored accordingly.

Eric Hobson continues: "We have invested in a major overhaul of the front-end user experience of Autology. We are rolling out an ongoing programme of updates, introducing innovations such as how the user interface looks and works, allowing students easy access to the best educational content.

"The ability to filter results by age/key stage, subject and content type has been simplified, plus the need to ‘log in' at school has been removed. Schools are using Autology as the ‘home' page on school PCs, and we are seeing a massive rise in Autology usage and student access to a broad range of high quality education resources in these schools."

Autology is also offering a free trial. For further details visit http://uk.autology.org/trial/
