People who want to avoid the crowds this Christmas but are nervous about shopping on-line will find plenty of great, and safe, offers through Feefo, the UK's only independent provider of un-edited customer feedback.
Over 100 companies are now members of Feefo, which guarantees that customers of any of its members will be able to see, un-edited, what past customers have thought of the products and the level of customer service they provide. Feefo makes a direct approach to every individual who has made a purchase from a Feefo member to get feedback, which also reduces the risk that you are dealing with a rogue business.
Feefo was founded by Bill Cawley in response to the discomfort he felt about buying things over the telephone or internet from people he did not know personally or who hadn't been recommended to him by a trusted source. Bill says:
When I buy from a company that I haven't used before, I don't trust on-site recommendations, or blogs. I really liked e-bay's system whereby buyers rate sellers for other buyers because you know you can trust a supplier with plenty of good feedback. I created Feefo to allow customers to get the same level of information from unbiased sources regardless of where they were buying from. With Feefo, every customer gets a chance to have their say on an independent site, and the company gets a chance to respond, so you know that Feefo members are committed to excellent customer service."
Members of the public who only want to buy on-line, or via direct mail, from companies where they can see whether past customers have been happy or not can see a list of ‘Feefoed' companies on their website.

Feefo.com is an independent customer feedback forum that publishes customer feedback online for any business that is happy to share what any of its customers think of them - good or bad. Businesses that want to receive customer feedback but are not happy to have it published publicly without editing (with the exception of obscenities or remarks designed to cause offence to innocent third parties), can use Feefo's feedback service privately but cannot place their information on their own site without making all of the feedback public.
Brands that have signed up to Feefo service include fashion retailers Thomas Pink, Charles Tyrwhitt, mywardrobe.com, Lands End, Fashion Union and Jack Wills, specialist stores such as The Present Finder and festive food retailers such as Forman and Field and Dukeshill Ham.
